The village Kabagorozi is located close to the Volcanoes National Park which inhabits the last Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. Since 2012 we are supporting 16 families from this village who are among the poorest and who formerly lived as hunters and gatherers. We enable the children to go to school and support the families in agriculture.
The children just started with the new school year. This year 46 children from this village are going to different schools from primary to secondary school. We provide them with school uniforms, pay for their school fees and support them with everything they need for school. In addition we provide them a social worker, who is also active in the village, to support them as best as we can in their school career.
A lot has also happened in agriculture recently: Some time ago we built a warehouse to allow the villagers to store their crop safe from theft, pest and the weather. This also allows them to feed a whole year from their harvest. To support the families with agriculture we also provide them an agricultural economist who advises and supports them in farming. It is nice to see that the work of the last few years paid off and the families could harvest 2.5 tons of potatoes this harvesting season.
To support children and their families in the future we need your help! Here you find all information how you can support our work:
