Our Sucesses

What have we accomplished since 2008?

What have we accomplished since 2008?

Some of our projects are exclusively for girls and young women. The goal is to enable them and their families to lead independent lives in the long term.

  • Since 2015, more than 500 girls and young women from vulnerable backgrounds have received vocational training at our RWAZA VOCATIONAL CENTER in Rwaza.
    • 270 graduates completed the accredited tailoring training.
    • 250 girls and young women were trained in handicraft production.
  • In 2019, Future for Kids established a new training center in Kinigi, the KINIGI SEWING CENTER. Since then, 210 young single mothers after unwanted pregnancies have received training in tailoring and psychosocial support.

Other projects empower vulnerable children and adults to lead independent lives through education and targeted training.

  • Since 2017, we have been teaching 50 primary school children from poor families in the RERERO EJO HAZAZA – Learning for a Better Future – project. The children not only receive quality education, but also a hearty and healthy lunch.
  • The Batwa are a small, landless, marginal group in Rwanda. In the village of KABAGOROZI, we have significantly improved the livelihoods of about 100 Batwa by providing them with land, seeds and know-how. We are also enabling their children to attend school.
  • In 2008, we established the Mountain Gorilla Education Center in Rwaza to care for 50 orphans, the MGEC Kids. 34 of these children, now young adults, have already completed their education and most are able to stand on their own two feet.

Over the years, Future for Kids has created more than 50 jobs to carry out these projects, enabling 50 families to earn a regular income.
