Christmas Donation Campaign

In the past year we could achieve a lot! In the last blog entry you could read about our achievements in the village Kabagorozi. We also did a lot of work in the Future For Kids – Muhisimbi Sewing Center in Kinigi. 45 young mothers with an unwanted pregnancy almost finished their one year education in tailoring. We are currently improving the child care and are building a space for the children for an improved childcare while the mothers have tailoring lessons. The goal of this project is to enable the mothers to get an education and to improve their confidence (they are outlawed by their families), so they are able to take care of themselves and their children and have the power to fight for their rights.

Unfortunately the last year was also marked by global crisis. Apart from the COVID-Crisi and the war in the Ukraine the inflation rose a lot. Many people need to evaluate what to spend their money for. Unfortunately these circumstances also affect our actions and the willingness to donate sank dramatically. This is the reason why we are more dependent on the support of those who have the possibility to give.
With your support you insure that we can continue our projects for the kids in Rwanda as we did in the past.

Christmastime is the time of calmness but also of meeting other people. Especially during the holidays many people meet their friends and family who they might haven’t seen for the rest of the year. We would be happy if you could use this time of the year to tell your friends and family from our projects and our vision.

Our Christmas donation campaign has the motto “Donate Instead of Giving”. In the implementation of this campaign you can use your imagination! It may be collecting donations at Christmas with your family or giving a donation instead of a present. You also have the possibility to start a donation campaign on Facebook.
We, the board of Future for Kids, thank you for your support and wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

News from the Village Kabagorozi!

The village Kabagorozi is located close to the Volcanoes National Park which inhabits the last Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. Since 2012 we are supporting 16 families from this village who are among the poorest and who formerly lived as hunters and gatherers. We enable the children to go to school and support the families in agriculture.
The children just started with the new school year. This year 46 children from this village are going to different schools from primary to secondary school. We provide them with school uniforms, pay for their school fees and support them with everything they need for school. In addition we provide them a social worker, who is also active in the village, to support them as best as we can in their school career.
A lot has also happened in agriculture recently: Some time ago we built a warehouse to allow the villagers to store their crop safe from theft, pest and the weather. This also allows them to feed a whole year from their harvest. To support the families with agriculture we also provide them an agricultural economist who advises and supports them in farming. It is nice to see that the work of the last few years paid off and the families could harvest 2.5 tons of potatoes this harvesting season.

To support children and their families in the future we need your help! Here you find all information how you can support our work:
